Trauma is not solely defined by catastrophic events. It can also manifest in more subtle ways, such as:
Growing up in a home where emotions weren’t safe
Feeling responsible for keeping peace
Being the overachiever to avoid being a disappointment
Chronic stress without relief
Over time, your nervous system adapts. You become excellent at coping. However, it is important to recognize that coping is not the same as healing.
